Heirloom

Draft · pending legal review

Privacy notice

This is a draft, not a final policy

It has not been reviewed and is not yet in effect. It describes how the Heirloom web beta is being built; details will change before launch.

What Heirloom stores

  • Your account: name and email address from Google or from the email you sign in with.
  • The page images you upload, and the readings, titles and corrections for each letter.
  • Your page-credit balance and a record of credit purchases. Card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by Heirloom.

How your letters are processed

To read a letter, Heirloom sends its page images to an AI transcription service. The pages and readings are kept in private storage linked to your account and are not shared publicly.

Deletion

You can delete a letter, or your whole account, from inside the app. Some records, such as payment records, may be kept where the law requires. Retention periods will be stated here before launch.

To be completed before launch

  • Data controller and contact details.
  • The processors used (hosting, storage, email, payments, transcription) and where data is processed.
  • Retention periods, your rights, and how to exercise them.
